Improv for Creative Pedagogy Presenter: Jessica Rogers
This 2-hour professional development workshop for educators explores the fundamentals of improvisation through active participation in improv exercises. Participants will discover the principal concepts of improvisational learning and its integration into the curriculum of any subject area.
KickStart 5777 Intensive Workshop - 9:35 am to 11:35 am. This intensive is designed for teachers working with students of all ages. Exercises are completely flexible, taught to fit all teaching/student needs.
Second City Training Center Faculty Member Jessica Rogers has been teaching improv and sketch comedy at The Second City for over a decade. Originally from Miami, Florida, Jessica received her degrees in Elementary Education (minor in Theatre) from UF and Special Education from UIC. Since moving to Chicago, Jessica has studied, performed, and directed at numerous theatres and venues. Also a teacher at iO, as well as the Artistic Director for CIP’s Teen Comedy Festival, Jessica loves teaching, directing and performing improvisation. She is proud to be the director of the Second City’s Teen Ensemble.
