The European Roots of American Judaism Presenter: Dr.Claire Sufrin
In this workshop, we will examine sources that shed light on the birth of the Reform, Conservative, and Modern Orthodox movements of Judaism in 19th century Germany. We will consider why and how Jews began to change the practice of Judaism in response to the larger cultural changes they were experiencing and the new opportunities they were gaining. This workshop is designed for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of modern Judaism.
